Assistant Manager, Institutional Engagement

  • Full Time / Part time:    Full time, salaried/exempt, 40 hours/week
  • Location:   Remote USA:  New England, Mid Atlantic or within driving distance to Indianapolis
  • Salary: Minimum salary of $50,000.  Salary is commensurate with skills, experience and geographic location.

We are searching for two Institutional Engagement Assistant Managers to join our community.

A critical extension of the IFSA brand, Institutional Engagement Assistant Managers have the primary responsibility for supporting institutional relationships and promoting IFSA programs to the campus community including students, study abroad professionals, advisors, administrators and faculty. Institutional Engagement Assistant Managers support the efforts of the Institutional Engagement Managers, facilitating student facing events, meeting with current IFSA partners, and cultivating new relationships with the goal of increasing program use and the overall student enrollment in IFSA programs. Institutional Engagement Assistant Managers are collaborative, curious and creative thinkers who are motivated to promote education abroad opportunities for all students, and driven to help their colleagues and institutions achieve enrollment milestones.

In this position, your responsibilities would include:

  • Working with the Institutional Engagement Director and Team to support program approval and enrollment growth through creative outreach strategies aligned with team goals.
  • Representing IFSA at virtual and in-person campus events and sessions, including study abroad fairs, information sessions and occasional classroom presentations.
  • Supporting current partnerships and affiliations, and assist with the identification of potential partner institutions and cultivation of new relationships to promote IFSA programs with campus audiences.
  • Operating with a customer-oriented mindset to quickly respond to internal requests, campus needs, and propose creative solutions.
  • Utilizing Salesforce CRM to maintain detailed records of all activities related to institutions and partners, including detailed campus visit summaries, weekly reports for leadership team, and enrollment analysis and patterns.
  • Supporting Institutional Engagement programming for campus educators, such as webinars and info sessions, to build knowledge of IFSA programs and best practices.
  • Serve as liaison between institutional partners and additional IFSA staff to respond to queries. Facilitate meetings between IFSA staff and campus partners as needed.
  • Establish personal travel schedules, set up all logistics, registrations, material shipment orders, and travel arrangements to promote programs each semester.

Requirements

Requirements, Work Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Two - Five years of work experience or proven track record in relationship management in support of organizational objectives. Desired experiences include:  higher education, study abroad administration, admissions, educational sales, career services, alumni relations, pre-college programs, TRIO programs and/or student access programs, or other industry experience or professional experience in relationship management or customer engagement/service role.
  • Experience interacting with cultures different than your own required. Personal international experience (either through personal travel, work travel or study abroad) desired.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for IFSA’s mission, vision and commitments.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, public speaking and advising skills. Sales and customer service oriented.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with and for diverse colleagues and constituents of varying identity facets, such as underrepresented populations in study abroad.
  • Demonstrated success in working independently, being proactive, launching a new initiative, and setting priorities based on data analysis.
  • Experience with a CRM, Salesforce preferred.
  • Legal authorization to work in the USA.

Physical and Work Environment  

  • Working on a computer, placing phone/video calls, creating and editing documents.
  • Required to walk, sit or stand for long periods of time, potentially outdoors in the heat or cold.
  • Frequent domestic travel in alignment with seasonal recruitment activities and organizational needs. Approximately 15 days per month in peak recruitment windows (Sept – Nov, Jan-Mar)
  • Occasional international travel required in alignment with organizational initiatives
  • Occasional physical activities such as lifting boxes of 25-30 lbs, arranging chairs/tables in conference room settings.
  • Ability to travel independently, driving or taking flights for long periods of time.
  • Ability to attend occasional meetings outside of local business hours, due to the global nature of our operations.
